hey can any of u guys help me with my report??

hey guys! can any of u help me with my report on Halloween?? i'm need to know about it's history and why it got it's name and why do we have Halloween!! so can someone help me??please?? and if u guys can help me that would be so nice!! Happy Halloween!!

Well it began more than 2,000 years ago in Britain and Ireland,
The and belonged too people called Celts.
November 1st was important because it ended the harvest season and the beginning of winter.
To celebrate they had a big festival on October 31st.
It was called Samhain (Sow-an)
Durring Samhain they made a bonfire and sacrificed crops and livestock to their gods.
They would dress up in animal skins durring the festivities.
The Celts believed the ghosts of the dead along with fairies, goblins, and other supernatural beings,
Roamed the earth durring Samhain.
These beings could cause alot of trouble.
To keep them away people left food in front of their house.
Durring the first century the romans conqured Britian.
Over the next few centeries the two roman hollidays became combined with Samhain.
First there was Feralia,
Which honored the dead.
Then there was the feast of Pomona,
Too honor the godess of fruit orcherds and the harvest.
Pomona's simble was an apple so we believe thats where bobbing for apples came from.
November 2nd became All souls' day,
the day to remember the souls of the dead.
November 1st became All saints' day,
A day honoring Christian Marders.
And October 31st became All Hallows' Eve,
Which was shortened too Halloween.
These changes was made by the Christian Pope.
Hallow really means Saints and een means evening.
So Halloween really means the evening before All Saints Day.
The traditions that we use now,
such as carving pumpkins, costumes, and candy came later in the time period.
By Medevil times leaving food out for the dead had evolved into a ritual called souling.
Beggers would go door to door on Halloween,
They would promise too pray for the souls of dead relitives.
In return they recieved some food.
Thats what we think how trick or treating began.
In Ireland people began dressing up as ghosts and goblines in order to blend in with the supernatural,
creatures that wondered the earth on Halloween.
They also began carving scary faces on Turnups, Gorges and Potatos.
Then placed them in windows or near doors too keep creatures away from their homes.
Thats how the tradition of pumpkins came.
WHen people from Ireland and Scotland immigrated to America,
they brought they traditions with them.
It became really popular and it started spreading around the country where getting into trouble,
and trick or treating on Halloween night.
